Eliza,Gwendolyn,Fang,Jessica Tarina rolls her eyes when Captain Zodge is mentioned but listens intently to the rest of what is said to her by Gwendolyn and Eliza, shifting her eyes towards Fang and Jessica every now and then, still remaining cautious. "Look, I owe him half of a favour the last time I remember anything. And yes, I can tell you all about the Dead Three, but I'll be leaving a trace by putting my head out there and departing with what I know, ya know?" She winks towards Gwendolyn before reaching for her tankard and taking a glug and finishing the liquid swiftly. "I've been hearing a small rumor that my former shipmates have tracked me to Baldur's Gate an' I'm expecting them to walk up them stairs any minute now." She leans and nods her head towards the stairs you all entered upstairs through, where Sonio stands near the banister step leading down. "What say you lot all sit with me for a while and join me for a game of Baldur's Bones? Maybe send your bodyguard over there downstairs to fetch us all some drinks while we pass the time and wait for me old pals to saunter on by?" She gives a wink while now rattling a set of dice in her hands.

Fang looks down a Jess with an affirming nod before stalking off toward Sonio. Once at the bottom of the stairs he leans towards Sonio and begins whispering. "Our source wants drink and is expecting poor company to join us shortly. I will grab drink." Fang strides towards the Bartender. "Alan, water and ale for six." Once drinks have been collected fang will return upstairs.

Gwen felt her strong hand itch, a fight was coming and only one way to scratch it. But still, she hoped it was for good purposes. “These old friends of yours, what crimes or injustices might they have done? Give me a reason to disappoint an old tavern keeper.”

Sonio removes his mace and shield and puts them just behind the wall, to look unarmed but at the same time keep them ready, and with a nonchalant attitude sits on the steps, keeping an eye for whoever may come.

Nodding in agreement to Gwen's question about the soon to be coming strangers affiliated with Tarina, she adds, "Yes. I would hate to break our little agreement with... Alan was it?" She looks to her companions to ascertain that she got the name correctly.
While waiting for an answer, she walks over to the table and says, "I've played only a few times before, twenty-one or the closest wins, you draw over that and it's a bust. That about right?" She looks the cards over to eye any sort of tampering done to them.

Jessica wonders if she’s missing something… Did the woman not say that these were old shipmates of hers? Why, then, was everyone talking about hurting them and damaging the place.
Her brows knitted together in actual confusion. Not wanting to jump to conclusions, or get into unnecessary fights, she adds her own question. “Do you expect them to be violent towards you? If so, maybe we should just leave and handle this outside. That way we cause no trouble for the owner or other patrons.”

Eliza,Gwendolyn,Jessica At the mention of grabbing drinks, Fang leaves the table and walks to the stairs where he has a brief conversation with Sonio before dissapearing downstairs, most likely to produce beverages. "Well, when I said bodyguard, I assume the tiefling to be him, not the beastman!" Tarina scoffs as she watches Fang head off downstairs. "These old friends of mine have a hefty list of crimes they've had in their time, just like every pirate. Piracy, blackmail, theft, not to mention slave-trading. Name a crime, they've most likely pursued it in some form. Also, don't worry about that old coot, Alan. Fights are always kicking off in here." She chuckles and winks before Eliza starts asking her about the rules of Baldur's bones. "Yeah, sounds about right, but instead of cards, we're rolling dice instead." She flashes the set of cube bone dice in hand. "Everyone puts in the wagered ante, and then it goes in a circle of people rolling three dice in secret. You can then either stand, which passes it to the next player, or you can roll, where you take another dice and roll and add it to your last three dice. If anyone rolls over twenty-one, they're bust and are out of the game. Otherwise, they can keep rolling until they stand or break. Once everyone's got a total, we all compare and then the highest number wins the game. Pretty standard if I'm honest, but it certainly has gained its popularity here in Baldur's Gate." She winks towards Eliza before her attention is turned towards Jessica who starts asking for more on Tarina's old crew mates.
"Do I expect them to be violent towards me?! Why would anyone be looking for anyone here in Baldur's Gate? City is a cesspit of greed and murder, so yeah, they're gonna want to be having my head on a block unless the stuff I took from them as a departing gift magically appears. That's where you'll all come in, if you don't mind. And again, Alan isn't gonna mind too much about a fight kicking off. Just make sure you don't involve any of the staff though, that's when the ogre and armour downstairs like to get involved. So, who's gonna join me for a game of Baldur's Bones?" She opens her arms in an inviting expression towards the seats around the table.
Eliza Seeing no card sets on the table and only a few sets of bone dice, you scan your eyes over them, including the set in Tarina's hand, and gather that all sets of dice are made from the same manufacturer and that it would be pretty hard to cheat with a die.
Fang Moving past Sonio at the top of the stairs and warning him about the possibility of company arriving, you arrive at the bar where Alan Alyn greets you with a stern nod. "Guessing your troupe found 'er then? A water and ale for six, that'll cost ya twenty copper, please." He holds ahand out and allows you to pay with gold, giving back correct change. "It'll be brought upstairs to you all, just give it a few." He nods once more before turning to start grabbing tankards. Wits drinks orders satisfied, you head back upstairs, past Sonio who is perched on the top step nonchalantly, and get back in time to hear Tarina extending another invitation to anyone in the group for a game of Baldur's Bones.

Sonio moves to let Fang pass through, and will do so even if someone of the staff need to get upstairs, but for the rest of the time he tries to occupy the whole width of the stairs with his figure, suggesting with his eyes that it's not time to go up to whoever wanted to.

Fang returns the nod to Sonio as he moves to enter the upstairs room once again. He moves to stand flanking Jess's left side. He holds up his hands dismissing any interest of him playing baldur's bones. "No, thank you."

Eliza looks slightly embarrassed and her cheeks slightly fill with crimson as she realizes that the game in fact does not use cards but dice. 'Baldur's Bones, why would it be cards?' She shakes the embarrassment off with a slightly forced smile and says, "Got it. Don't involve the staff. I am interested in playing though, as long as the starting wager is affordable."
She pouts slightly as she hears her hulking companion voice out his lack of interest in the game. However, she remains hopeful that maybe Jessica or Gwendolyn are interested in playing.

Gwen smiles and reaches for her coin purse. “Three-Dragon Ante is more my style but I can’t turn down a game when we have time to kill before the actual…you know. Slaughter of the the wicked. How much?”

Jess shakes her head. "I'll just watch."
She sighs as she crosses her arms. Getting into a fight as soon as they got here was not her idea of a good time. All she wanted was the information they needed and to get on with the job. Why did everything have to be so damned difficult?

Eliza,Gwendolyn,Fang,Jessica Tarina pouts at those who decline her offer, but gains a visible excitement and gleam in her eyes towards Eliza and Gwendolyn as they accept. She instantly keeps her focus towards the two and passes them both a set of five dice each. "Alright, whats your ante then? I can most likely match what you got." She winks towards Eliza and Gwendolyn as she places her coin pouch onto the table.

Gwen looks into her coin purse. “Well, it seems all I have on me today is gold coins. So how about a couple of dragons?” She pulls out two gold coins minted in Waterdeep and places them down.

Fang remains silent occasionally sniffing the air as if detecting an odor. Standing and watching makes him restless causing him to glance down to Jess for any indication of action or order.

Eliza bites her lip for a second as Gwendolyn immediately jumps to two gold coins, but she tries to mask her surprise and immediately rests her face. "I- Yes. Two gold." She fishes the coins from her backpack and places them on the table.

Eliza,Gwendolyn,Fang,Jessica Tarina raises an eyebrow as Gwendolyn takes two gold coins and places them into the center of the table. She then watches as Eliza matches the wager before giving an impressed nod. "Alright, bringing the money straight out. I'm liking it." She winks to Gwendolyn before reaching into her pouch and blindly pulling two gold pieces herself, placing them with the rest of the pot, now making up six gold coins in the center of the table. "Alright, well. Seeing as I'm hosting, I'll be going up first. If you haven't played, just follow my lead to begin with. Good luck to you both." She continues to keep her focus solely aimed towards Eliza and Gwendolyn as she rattles three dice in her hand vigorously and waits for the pair to copy her before slamming them down onto the table with a loud thud, covered with her hand. She smiles at the pair before leaning down and raising her hand and peaking underneath and then encouraging you both to do the same.
"Alright, well I'm gonna have to roll." She slams an extra dice onto the table and adds it to the pile before sucking inwards and rolling another dice and eventually rolls a final one and frowning. "Well, s'gonna be real risky for me to roll again, so I'll stand." She covers her dice with the flat of her palm before looking towards Eliza as she takes a sip from her tankard. "Alright, your turn then." She gives another wink accompanied by a cheeky smile.

Fang watches Tarina as the game is played both watching to see if she is cheating or to see if he thinks she is bluffing. Regardless of what he notices he remains quiet.

Eliza rattles her first three, initial dice and unlike Tarina, she merely focuses on her dice instead of looking at the other players. She looks at the results as she lays them out and covers them quickly with a free hand. Whilst maintaining a blank expression, she rolls another dice, then another, then another. Finally satisfied, she smiles inwardly not wanting to show how happy she is once she's realized that she has a good chance of winning.

Gwen rolls her dice and cups them like she’s seen the others do. She rolls another die and adds it to the stock but unlike the others she stops with the four die. Close enough she thinks. There will be many risks taken today but best to play this smart. “Gee, you guys got a lot of dice. You sure your not rolling d4’s?”
