Having received a ominous warning from Bahamut, Kaida instantly reached out to her old friend and classmate, Elise, to ask for her hand in assistance. With magical help, both arranged a meeting point infront of Ulcaster school of magic, where the pair had grown and learned together. Both felt excited yet nervous for the reunion. What questions would arise? What answers would spill? Why the sudden reunion after no word? All of this was to soon be answered on a warm day in the Sword Coast as the pair both find themselves face to face with each other once again.
Kaida
Kaida repeatedly shifts her balance between her feet, twiddling her fingers, as she finds herself at a loss for words. "I'm sorry for back then, I genuinely am, but I need your help. Lord Bahamut, he has shown me some things, and I can't face them alone."
Elise
Elise looks at Kaida for a moment, closing her eyes, as some muddy thoughts overwhelm her for a moment. She shakes them off a second later. "I-it's fine, I'm... Sure it's all okay..." She tipped her hat, before walking closer to extend her arm for a handshake, but if Kaida were to accept it, Elise would pull her into a hug. "I- I missed you- I'm so glad that I can see you again." She gave Kaida a small, yet innocent smile.
Kaida
Kaida giggles, before full on laughing. "Oh? We're back to handshakes now? Come here, you." She ignores the outstretched hand, going straight to wrapping her arms around her. "I'm glad you could forgive me."
Elise
Elise smiled, chuckling. "H-how couldn't I?" Small tears trailed from her cheek. "I- I'm just so glad that you're safe..." She embraced the hug, wiping the tears off her face.
Kaida
"Of course I'm safe, the great Kaida Mintree is a hard lady to kill." She chuckled, holding on to the hug a bit longer before backing away. "Let's go get something to eat, yeah? I can explain the situation over lunch, my treat."
Elise
Elise nodded "R-really? I would be really grateful for that!" Elise fixed her hat position a little bit, since it was tilted from the hug. "How are you? How is adventure life going?" She asked, tilting her head.
Kaida
Kaida begins walking to a place she vaguely recalls being good during her youth. "Oh it goes as it does, y'know. I'm just trying to find ways to make a change, how has life been treating you, though?"
Elise
Elise exhaled "I graduated from the school, started working in library.... It's- nice but kind of empty and quiet there." She smiled to herself, recalling the quiet and peaceful life she had while working there. "It becomes boring though, s-sometimes I just sit there for hours straight and think about stuff." She giggled.
Kaida
"You sitting all day, thinking and reading? Color me surprised." She replies with a small giggle of her own. "Would in any of your thinking and reading would you be familiar with a place called Greenest?"
Elise
"O-oh, I think so." She smiled. "It's... A small town, that's all I know." She looked down again.
Kaida
"Well we'll be due to find out more once we get there, then." She stops talking, turning to look at her. "I'm sorry, I said I'd explain with lunch, so how have you been other than work then? Any family yet? How about that guy Aidril who was crazy into you? Anything come from that?" She keeps walking, now backwards, trying to keep steady and not bump into anyone.
Elise
"Ahah..." She laughed for some reason, and- remember that she already has blush over her face? Now- her face was one big pink tomato because of expanded blush. "I'm not that interesting anyways- I can't even get a talk done without stuttering-" She hid her blush behind the hat. "B-but what about you? You have everything! Interesting personality, great social skills, you're kind-and-great-and everything!"
Kaida
"Well, anyone would be lucky to have anyone like you, anyways, we're here." She turns around again, opening the door to a small eatery. "On me, I'll let you settle on an order before spilling the news to you."
Elise
Elise nodded, following Kaida through. She ordered a warm cup of tea for herself, and cookies (no flavor). Obviously she'd share with Kaida, and then, she waits for her to order something as well.
Kaida
Watching her friend order hardly anything, Kaida chuckles, "Yeah, whatever meats you've got, spice 'em as much as you can."
Elise
Elise chuckled, awkwardly. "Sooo, y-you didn't answer my previous question." She smiled briefly.
Kaida
Kaida thinks back for a second, before shaking her head. "Not something I was looking into, genuinely, no one I met was really the kinda person I was into, just a bunch of mindless muscle heads." She says, not realizing the irony of her statement.
Elise
"O-oh..." She tipped her hat, hiding the expression of her face, before looking up at Kaida. "B-but I uhm, um, I think you will find a person you're into! I know you will!" She smiled, with determination sparkling in her eyes.
Kaida
"Thanks, but, I'm a long ways from settling down, at least I hope so." Kaida shakes her head. "That's why I contacted you actually, Lord Bahamut showed me things, and I need your help with this one, you're one of the brightest minds I've ever met, and, truly, I just don't want to go on my own."
Elise
Elise pondered. "W-well, I can help with that! I don't want you to go alone..." She took a bite on cookie, taking a sip of tea as well. "Mh~, well, what exactly did they show to you?"
Kaida
"Darkness, then eyes, 5 sets of them, before destruction is brought down upon the land. Afterwards five people, all surrounded by a bright light. I don't know what any of it means, but, I figured you might."
Elise
"Hmm... I- I don't know. It's a vision... Of sorts?" She pondered. "It's so... Omnious, I have a bad feeling about it just by trying to imagine it..."
Kaida
Kaida nods, somewhat solemnly, before taking a large chunk of meat in her mouth, hardly chewing, she speaks up, "Yeah, I can see why. But I was hoping there would still be some way to convince you to come along." She begins coughing, choking on the food in her mouth.
Elise
"Convince me? I wouldn't let you go alone l-like that eitherway!" She laughed, again, somewhat awkwardly, sipping her tea again.
Kaida
"Well, to Greenest it is then!" She takes another bite. "After we're done eating, yeah?" She pauses for a second. "I'm really glad I was able to contact you."
Elise
"I'm glad about it too." She ate a cookie. "When I got the message I started jumping in sheer happiness." She giggled.
Kaida
Kaida basically giggles back, grasping on Elise's hand with both of hers. "I missed you , El. I'm glad you understand why I had to leave."
Elise
"Of course I do!" She chuckled "It's only right to think why person does something before blaming them- not like I would ever b-blame you!"
Kaida
"Glad to know you're still the same, El, wouldn't want to do this with anyone but you."
Elise
"I'm glad you think so!" By the time, Elise finished eating the cookies and tea.
Kaida
"Well let's make our way, then, yeah?" She says, taking a large bite out of the last piece of meat.
Elise
Elise smiled, before stretching and standing up. "Yeah! Sure!"
Kaida
Kaida practically jumps up, stretching as she lands. "Alright..." She pays for the meal, and leads Elise out. "So, where, exactly, is Greenest?"
Elise
"Well, It shouldn't be particularly far away, I think, I'm getting to the library, then we're getting the map. Alright?" She smiled, thus, both of them were preparing to the trip to Greenest.
