The Rule set being used is DND 5th Edition.
-All Character Sheets must be in a forum post in the relevant section, no exceptions.
-Sheets will be audited by the DM before being introduced to play and will also be audited periodically.
-Players are expected to keep up on all book keeping themselves. (Changing health, adding items/currency)
Players at some point will want more information about what is going on around them. They may want to make a history check about something or use any other skill featured in the skills table. When doing so just put in parenthesis the roll you would like to do.
Example:
(Ka'Lek would like to make a history check to find out more about these ruins.)
When the Dungeon Master posts an enemy creatures turn, a player may want to use a reaction for an attack of opportunity or a similar action that uses a reaction. To activate such a turn, the player must simply reply to the thread with the reaction clearly labeled.
Example:
Ka'Lek watches the gnoll move away from him and quickly swings his mace into the side of it.
(Reaction: Attack of opportunity with mace against Gnoll.)
-- The same should go for when making an insight check against an NPC or enemy creature. It should include which NPC and what parts of dialogue or action the insight check is focusing on.
-Your Strength score determines the amount of weight you can bear. The following terms define what you can lift or carry.
Carrying Capacity. Your carrying capacity is your Strength score multiplied by 15. This is the weight (in pounds) that you can carry, which is high enough that most characters don't usually have to worry about it.
--If carrying 1lb more than your carry weight, your character is encumbered.
Encumbered: imposes disadvantage on attack rolls, skills involving Dexterity or Strength, and Dex and Str saving throws.
Speed is also halved.
--If carrying 20X your characters carry weight, your character is overencumbered.
Overencumbered: Your speed is reduced to 0. Also imposes all of negative conditions listed with encumbered.
--You can Push,Drag,Lift a weight in pounds up to twice your carrying capacity (or X30 your Strength score). While pushing or dragging weight in excess of your carrying capacity, your speed drops to 5-feet.
-While travelling, a party can move at a normal, fast, or slow pace as shown on the Travel pace table below.
Distance travelled per....
-- The travel pace table assumes that the party travel for 8 hours in the day. They can push on beyond that limit, at the risk of exhaustion.
-Standard Exchange Rates
-Currency can be exchanged at certain places throughout the world. The DM will notify you of these places in the OC chat.
-When death saves are made, replace the O with an X to indicate a failure or success. Use this rule when indictating spells slots having been expended.
--If maximum hits points are lowered for any reason, respectively replace your maximum hit points with the new number and have the original maximum number next to it in parenthesis.
-Experience can be awarded to players through combat or generally great roleplay. The DM will decide when this is appropriate.
--After combat experience will be divided equally between the Player characters and NPC's who took part in combat.
---XP will not be adjusted to the difficulty of an encounter.
-On a level up, all players must send the DM their choices of level up, including what class, and new spells if available.
--Within the same message, players must state whether they want to roll for health or take the average.
---Any player changing their spells due to a daily basis must alert the DM to such changes through a personal message log.
While a DM is the final arbiter on any given ruling, I am always willing to explain myself, with relevant citations as necessary, on request. Specifically:
-Players are welcome to provide a logical rules and/or precedent counter-argument to any ruling, they will be given fair hearing.
Variants to general rules are usually put player vote with the DM abstaining, passed by unanimous vote only.
Setting is king and all existing rules and content are constrained therein, where appropriate.
