Dungeon Master
The group of adventurers all find themselves at an Inn, named The rusty frame, half a days journey from their destination of Red Larch. All of them have separate reasons for travelling there, not knowing their paths may intertwine more than they know so far.
The evening is late and only they sit in the downstairs taproom. They are the only patrons currently, except the barman, who is currently cleaning tankards.
Xander Darnus
Sitting at the bar, with a mug of ale is a human. He is around average with dark hair, and dark traveling clothes. He seems tired, as he takes a large swing from his tankard
Baeshra
At a nearby table, a lizardfolk woman is chomping on a baked potato. She is wearing long, loose robes that drape over her dark scales. She has a quarterstaff and a shield in her lap.
Randall Grim
In the darkest corner of the tavern sits a small figure with what seems to be a pronounced hunchback, back against the wall, a tankard in front of him resting in the table. His face and most of his body almost entirely covered by a dark hooded cape. Only his hands of a light brownish tone and showing the signs of advanced age can be seem from a distant while he feeds and whisper to a small owl resting at his shoulder. He remains silent while discretely paying attention to his surroundings
William J. McCoy
William sits in a large chair next to the fire, a mug of beer in his hand. The human stares in the flames, watching them dance
William J. McCoy
Finishing his drink, William takes up to the bar. "Excuse me, sir. Ah'm lookin' fer the Allfaiths Shrine. Mighten you be able ter tell me where Ah can find it?"
Xander Darnus
Xander, still sitting at the bar with his drink looks over, curious about the conversation between the Barman and his fellow patron
Dungeon Master
"Ah yes, you'll be looking for Red Larch then. Just continue following the road to the east, no more than a day. Another drink?" He asks as he grabs an empty tankard from behind him.
Xander Darnus
Xander seems interested “Heading to Red Larch, are you? I may be headed that way as well...”
Baeshra
Baeshra turns her head towards the conversation at the mention of Red Larch. She watches the men, seemingly pondering something
William J. McCoy
"Yes sir. Iffen yer headed there to, we could travel togetha. Sayfar in groups."
Xander Darnus
“I am headed there, and traveling in groups is always, as you said, safer to travel together. When do you plan on heading out? I was planning on leaving in the morning”
William J. McCoy
"Mornin' as well. Ah need a good sleep an' travelin' at night ain't smaht"
Baeshra
She sits up and approaches the two at the bar. "Humans travelling to Red Larch, Baeshra will join you. You know safety in numbers, yess?"
Xander Darnus
Xander eyes the lizardfolk, slightly uncomfortably ”Yes... safety in numbers. We’ll be glad to have you”
Baeshra
"Good, good. Leave early, at sunrise. Have good rest tonight."
Xander Darnus
“Yes... you as well”
William J. McCoy
"You too, Ah guess?" turns to Xander, holding out a hand "Ah'm William. William James McCoy. Pleasure ta make yer acquaintance."
Dungeon Master
"Well, William. That'll be one copper for the ale." The barman smiles as he places a full tankard onto the bar.
William J. McCoy
Pays two copper "An' one fer mah new travelling cahmpanyun"
Dungeon Master
The barman takes the copper pieces from the bar and nods.
"Right you are." He pours another tankard of ale and places it on the bar, towards Xander.
Xander Darnus
“Thanks, friend” Xander says, accepting the drink “I should probably be getting to bed then eh?” He says, after finishing his drink
Randall Grim
Randall moves discretely towards the Inkeeper, empty tankard in his hands. The owl which was previously in his shoulder are not there anymore.
“May you pour me another one my lad?” he says while placing two copper pieces in the counter. And them directing his eyes to the men chatting about travelling to Red Larch “Could not avoid hearing you ate all planning to travel to Red Larch. Those old bones can still put up to a fight if needed but as it was alteady spoken there is safety in numbers...”
Baeshra
Baeshra takes a good look at him "Old man can fight?" she says curiously
Xander Darnus
“Are you headed that way as well? We’d be glad to have you with us, if so.” Xander says, with a glance at the lizard woman
Dungeon Master
The bar man looks at the copper on the bar and takes one of them.
"It's a copper for one my good man. I do accept tips though." He winks to the old man before grabbing another tankard and pouring an ale. When done, he places it onto the bar.
William J. McCoy
"We'hre gettin' a might big group goin'."
"Ahn mah way ta Red Larch, Ah met a group on tha march..." William starts to rhyme
Randall Grim
Randall looks back to Baeshra and says while gently tapping a crossbow partially hidden under his hooded cape “Indeed I can if necessary”
Xander Darnus
“Then it’s decided. We will leave tomorrow morning. In the meantime, I suggest everyone gets some sleep, I’m going to head up now. And the names Xander” Xanders says, before getting up, and asking the bartender for a room
William J. McCoy
If the barkeep doesn't object, William will sleep in a chair near the fire
