Dungeon Master
Each of our characters find themselves in a tavern named the Boring Owl, located one village over from Greenest. They all share the same destination of Greenest but are unaware they share this destination.
Drake
Drake is sat at a table with a few of the local patrons playing a game of dice and enjoying a drink, all seems to be going well for him
Cole
Cole walks though the tavern playing his fiddle. A jovial tune leaves the stings of his instrument as he walks between tables smiling at all those who would watch and listen.
Drake
Drake eyes the musician as he enters then turns his attention back to the game at hand
Folkre
Folkre sits in one of the tables, in the corner alone. He seems to be drinking a copious amount, and suffering from an usual cough.
Cole
Cole wanders over to the game and see's the attention the player who just peered at him is getting and goes to stand behind him. The music shifts to one of seriousness and drama as the dice are declared.
Eko Eco
Listening to the cacophony of sounds that a tavern has, Eko is immediately drawn to the small enclosed people forest. Opening the front door, he listens for an squeak in the door, if there is one he will repeat it to himself before moving inside and finding an empty seat with which to watch the people. Listening to the musician, Eko will recreate the sound of his instrument to the best of his abilities while trying to match the pace and tone of the music. Once he is comfortable he has matched the tone, he will move over to the table to see what the people are doing with the small noise stones.
Drake
"A fan of games of chance are you?" He asks the musician as he approaches, "Why not join the next game?" He says as he says to the table 4 sixes
Folkre
Folkre would seem to calm his drinking, and stand up and decide to walk over as well. He’s coughing in intervals between 30 seconds to a minute, and it sounds somewhat painful, although he’s muffling them to the best of his ability.
Drake
"We seem to be attracting a crowd" he says to his fellow players, "Fancy making it interesting?" He pauses as he glances at his die beneath his cup, "How about a the loser buys a round for all the spectators?"
Cole
The music continues in it's dramatic tones. Coles vision first directed towards the other players. Looking down at drake, " Mayhaps I shall, but I am unfamiliar with the game."
Dungeon Master
"Nah! I'm spent! good luck to ya!" says one of the men as he stands and walks away from the table.
"Yeah, I'd rather keep my winnings thanks." Says another as he picks up his silver and walks from the table.
There is only one more stranger sat at the table.
Drake
"Wait until till game round has finished and I'll happily teach you how it is played" he says to the musician
Folkre
Folkre would move relatively close, just watching with intent on distracting himself from his ailments.
Drake
Drake eyes the final player carefully, "Well how about it, we have an audience, you cant back out now."
Dungeon Master
"Sure! I'm game for another." He smiles and chucks another silver onto the table
Drake
Drake smiles and turns to the musician to explain the rules of the game before collecting his die and taking his roll
Cole
Cole walks to an empty seat and continues finishes his playing and sits and listens to Drake.
Folkre
Folkre would listen as well, tightening the bandages on his arm
Cole
"I must say, I am not much of a liar."
Drake
Drake rolls his dice and studies his opponent carefully, before declaring "5 sixes" he holds he finger to his mouth as the musician speaks, "Hold a moment."
Eko Eco
In fascination Eko watches Drake and the man make their wagers and begin playing the noise stone game. The ringing bowls that hold ales are being used to amplify the noise stone sounds, this is a new concept to Eko. He takes a seat next to Folkre as to watch the upcoming events unfold. Any time the men begin to shake the dice in the cups, Eko will repeat the sound under his breath as to not distract the players of the noise stone game.
Folkre
Folkre would turn to Eko for a split moment, then back to the game, still not having uttered a word. He's much more fascinated in seeing how they play this game.
Dungeon Master
The stranger looks at you with a squint before declaring
"six fives." with a sly smile.
Drake
"Liar" says Drake knowing he doesn't have a five
Nahusca
"No, he's telling the truth." A giant lizardfolk stomps over to the table from his seat at the bar
Dungeon Master
"Alright. Fine. Lift 'em." He calls out as he lifts his dice to reveal three twos, and two sixes.
Drake
Drake smiles at the lizard, "if that's what you think"
Cole
Cole smiles at the display being had.
Drake
Drake lifts his cup revealing 4 sixes a two and a one
Nahusca
Nahusca stares impassively back before taking a seat at the table
Drake
"You lose friend," he says to the man sitting opposite, "Time to buy a round for our audience," he gestures to the group forming around them
Dungeon Master
The man laughs.
"Well played friend. Well played. Of course. I'll send it over." He says now standing up from the table.
"Gentlemen." He says with a small bow before walking over to the bar.
Drake
Drake stands and offers a hand to the gentleman, "Well played," he then turns to his audience, "So who would like to learn?"
Nahusca
"Count me in" Nahusca says. "I'm curious about why you soft skins play these games"
Folkre
“Very well.”
Cole
Cole will smile at the lizard folk, and then back to Drake. "So what is the starting wager?"
Folkre
Folkre finally speaks, his tone is low and reserved.
Eko Eco
In a perfect impression of Drake, Eko leans in and says "You teach how it is played?"
Nahusca
Nahusca looks at Eko in surprise. "That's not your voice"
Eko Eco
Turning to look at Nahusca he furrows his eyes "That's not your voice."
Nahusca
Nahusca thumps the table. "Do not take my voice, bird."
Drake
Drake turns to the lizard man, "I'd be happy to tell you the rules, as for why we play," he pauses "That's obvious," he gestures to his small pile of coin that he has won, " As for the wager let's ignore that for now as I'm teaching you to play,"he pasties as the feathered arrival imitates his voice, "That's impressive friend, where did you learn that skill?"
Folkre
“I believe... it’s one of those things, they don’t speak, I know I’ve seen one at least once before... maybe.”
Eko Eco
Seeming distracted by the question, Eko turns to Drake "Skill?" Then in a soft tone, he imitates that of a little girl, in the age range of 6-7. "His name is Eko!"
Folkre
He would cough again, into his arm
“Apologies...”
Drake
"Interesting, I cant say I've met one of his kind so I couldn't say," he offers a hand to the feathered individual
Drake looks confused as the feathered individual addresses him
Nahusca
Nahusca watches Drake offer his hand, almost as if he is expecting violence
Eko Eco
Turning back to Nahusca and imitating drake "Why not hold a moment friend. I am a fan." he says before trying to smile to show his sincerity.
Folkre
“I have reason to believe it means no Ill will.” Folkre observes Nahusca, and then Drake.
Drake
Drake turns to face the feathered friend, "So what is your name, and what brings your here?"
Eko Eco
Repeating the little girls voice "His name is Eko!"
Folkre
“Eko... huh.” He scratches his chin, thinking
Drake
"Echo," he says "A fitting name, mine is Drake," he says with his hand still outstretched
Eko Eco
then nodding and turning to Folkre "It means no ill will, he dont speak, maybe?" He then looks puzzled, as if trying to find the right words.
"Drake" He says holding out a hand.
Folkre
“I think he means to say he can only copy speech.”
Drake
Drake grasps Ekos hand, "It is a pleasure to meet you,"
"Seems you may be right," he says to the eleven figure
Folkre
“Wouldn’t be the only creature in the wild that does similar things... though Eko’s accuracy is uncanny.”
Eko Eco
Turning back to Nahusca, Eko imitates a man none of you have heard "You are powerful." Then switching is voice back to drake, "You are friend?"
Nahusca
"Like a parrot. I have seen those before."
To Eko: "I am powerful because I was not given a choice. The strong survive and the soft perish."
Drake
"I wouldn't know, I've never met.. " he pauses as Eko speaks, "That's kind of creepy how well he copies our voice," he turns to Eko, "Friend,"
Eko Eco
Nodding to Nahusca "Like a Parrot." Switching back to Folkre's voice "I mean no ill will" "Powerful friend"
Cole
Cole smiles enjoying the strange conversation that is occuring. Cole grabs a few of the dice from the table and begins to twirl them around his fingers while doing small tricks.
Drake
Drake catches the other human of the group grabbing dragging the die, "You seem to have some skill with dice, fancy a game?"
Eko Eco
Turning to Folkre, Eko imitates the young girls voice again "You remind me of.." then be begins to repeat the sound of song birds in a forest.
Folkre
“I have spent a majority of my life traveling the wilderness with my monastery, yes.”
Cole
"I very much would, what say the rest of you?" Cole looks to the rest of the table.
Drake
Drake looks confused with the conversation, and turns his attention to the other human
Folkre
“I suppose a simple game could not hurt, you would have to explain the rules to me though.”
Eko Eco
"Yes game"
Drake
"Gladly," drake exclaims
Folkre
“My name is Folkre, to start introductions off by the way.”
Drake
"The names Drake,"
Nahusca
Nahusca nods his head while keeping an eye on everyone at the table
Folkre
“Though I guess our friend Eko here beat me to it.”
Drake
Drake laughs "I guess he did."
Eko Eco
Repeating the young girls voice "Eko, you have to have good manners or people wont like you."
Folkre
He would slightly grin, before lightly coughing into a rag he pulls again, before folding it up and putting it in its own pocket.
Drake
Drake pulls out a few spare sets of dice and cups and begins to explain the rules before passing a cup and set of dice to each player
Cole
Cole places the dice he was playing with down on the table.
Folkre
Folkre seems to toss the dice into the air, before catching both of them with the cup swiftly, and then setting it down on the table.
Drake
Drake roll his dice takes a look and keeps them covered before stating "3 fours,"
Folkre
It wouldn’t have been more than a foot though
Cole
Cole will look under his cup a moment "3 fives if my eyes don't deceive me."
Nahusca
Nahusca clumsily grabs his dice and shows them to Drake. "I have 2 5's. What does this mean, soft skin?"
Eko Eco
Eko repeats as the others do before calling out "six fives."
Folkre
Folkre would then peer under his. “Four fives... That is good, right?”
Drake
Drake turns to the lizard man, "Your not supposed to tell us what you have, the idea is to bet as to the amount of a single side of the dice,"
Folkre
“Oh...”
Nahusca
"Why can I not tell you? These are your dice."
Drake
"Its fine, it just a friendly game with no wagers," he smiles
Cole
Cole laughs, "I have made the same mistake."
Nahusca
"Nothing you soft skins do make sense."
Drake
"But the dice under the cup you have are what you use to bet, the idea is you try to deceive the others into believing you have the best hand,"
Nahusca
"Why do I need to deceive you though? If I wanted your metal that badly I would take it."
Drake
Drake then goes into explaining that between the 5 of them, 25 dice are on the table each could have a different value but each player only knows of the five they have
Folkre
“Every war is but a match of deception and trickery in the end.”
Nahusca
"For you weak softlings it may be. You take things that are not yours and lie for fun."
"And now I have to live among you."
Cole
"You are not wrong but now you have a tale to tell. Why must you live among us?" Cole looks with genuine interest.
Drake
Drake eyes his 'opponents' "I too am curious as to why you are here, it's not often I see a lizard man,?
Folkre
“I do not normally like to venture this far out into civilization either.”
“But yes, let’s hear it then.”
Drake
A idea strikes Drake, "I have an idea, rather than betting coin, we wager something about ourselves, losers tell a number of secrets to the others based on the wager."
Nahusca
"My tribe was mighty. We had no need of lies or metal armor. We had our teeth and each other. But softlings overran us with metal and ice and stars from the sky. They took us by surprise and destroyed us. And now I must see to it that the Bloodfang tribe ends it's line on legend, not at the end of a soft skins sword."
Eko Eco
"Wager!"
Folkre
“Sounds like an interesting game.”
Eko Eco
Eko begins to imitate the sound of a sad song bird.
Folkre
“And I see. Like I said, one teaching I have received is that timing and surprise can be the singular reason between victory and defeat.”
Drake
Drake turns to Eko, "A wager is a bet, you say you'll tell us something Bout yourself if you lose,
Folkre
“Though I’m quite sorry to hear such a thing.”
Eko Eco
"Yes, wager!"
Cole
"But a tale that would be mighty indeed." Cole directs to Nachus. Cole throws a silver on the table.
Folkre
“I’ll let you all learn my story through the game. I do not wish to bet what little coin I have, unfortunately. I need this when I find a man of modern medicine.”
Drake
"I'm sorry to hear that," he pauses, "Er... mr bloodfang,"
Nahusca
"I have no gold yet. But I can offer my services in place."
Cole
Cole throws two more silver on the table. "Then you shall be at my service."
Nahusca
Nahu whirls to face Drake. "Do not call me that. No longer may I bear that name until I have entered legend. I am tribeless."
Folkre
“I guess I shall bet my secrets then, and mayhaps my services if I deem they may lead me to modern medicine.”
Drake
"OK, no coin this game," he pauses, "My apologies Mr tribeless," he pauses again, "this game we each reveal something about ourselves,'
Nahusca
"My services and my trust are seperate. You should keep that in your head."
Eko Eco
"I guess i shall bet my secrets too." -Folkre-
Drake
Drake coughs, "So back to the game, before things get heated, I wager my hometown on 3 fours,"
Cole
Cole sighs, "very well my secrets are on the table as well." Cole leaves the silver on the table.
Folkre
“I’ll call with my home as well, and raise why I am here.”
Drake
"I'll take that, what do you raise to?"
Eko Eco
"six fives! six fives!" -previous man who played-
Folkre
“I suppose I shall raise... Hmm, I guess I can raise some teachings of my monastery—“
“I don’t think that’s how this work.” He’d smile towards Eko
Works**
Drake
"No, no, I mean what di you raise your bet to, as in number of dice faces?"
Folkre
“Oh... Er... Three sixes?”
Drake
Drake laughs, "Maybe this isn't a working, How about we call the game, have a drink a just talk about why we are all here," he laughs agains
Cole
Cole tips his cup back to look again and using a free pinkie begins flipping the dice into his sleeve. He then leans back clasping his hands behind his head.
Eko Eco
turning to Drake, Eko begins to squint his eyes "six sixes." -Folkre-
Cole
"Well probably for the best because I had you all beat"
Nahusca
"I am not allowed to drink but I find this table enjoyable to sit at." Nahu grabs some dice off the table and attempts to imitate Cole.
Drake
Drake turns to the other human, "Oh really? You sound confident,"
Cole
Cole gives Drake a confident smirk in response.
Drake
"Ok then," his gamblers spirit taking over, "12 fives," he says knowing that there are at least 5 on the field and his 4
Eko Eco
Seeing Cole give Drake that smirk, he smiles and says "Liar" -Drake-
Drake
"Very well Eko," he says with a smile, "Shall we see what everyone has?"
Nahusca
Nahu clumsily flings the dice across the tavern and sets off to retrieve them
Eko Eco
Eko lifts up his cup, triumphantly he looks down at his dice for the first time.
Drake
Drake face palms as 5 dice are flung across the room
Cole
Cole lifts his cup but acts shocked as no dice appear under his cup. "Well that is unexpected."
Eko Eco
In shock Eko leans in and examines where the dice were. "Liar?" -Drake-
Drake
Drake laughs sarcastically "Well someone seems to be something of a hustler," he says with his dice still covered
Eko Eco
"Unexpected..." -Cole-
Eko begins to rub his beak in contemplation.
"Hustler?" -Drake-
Drake
Drake laughs, "Someone who pretend to be bad or not know the rules, but is actually good or cheats in some way."
Eko Eco
"Hahaha, Liar! Hahaha." -Drake-
Folkre
“Hmm...”
Eko Eco
Eko then begins to smile at cole.
Drake
Drake laughs again, "So, what and where are you dice?
Folkre
Folkre would carefully examine everyone, before peering underneath his cup
“I see... it was three sixes we were looking for, right?”
Cole
"You have it all wrong friends. For you see I will reveal to you my greatest secret." Cole flourishes wis hands once more as making the dice appear in between his fingers. "For you have not been told my name."
Drake
"Its not your name we need at the minute," Drake laughs, "Its your die."
Eko Eco
Looking at Cole, puzzled. "Name?" -Cole-
Cole
Cole is stifled for a moment by the lack of interest.
Drake
Drake looks around at the others, knowing none of them know the game, then at the other human, who he believes to be a hustler
"Well with the loss of 5 dice, this game seems to be a bust," he begins to collect the dice and cups he gave the others.
Nahusca
Nahu shouts from across the room. "I am looking for some dice!"
Folkre
“Unfortunate...”
Drake
Drake laughs, "dont worry, they'll turn up,"
Eko Eco
Eko picks up the dice from in front of him "Dice!" -Nahusca-
Cole
Cole hands the dice over with a smile. "The game seemed to not be taking shape. But I did not lie about the 3 fives."
Eko Eco
"No liar?" -Drake-
Eko opens his eyes wide in shock.
Drake
"It matter not," he offers a hand to the human, "My names Drake, and yours?"
Cole
Looking to Eko and then to Drake, Cole will stand and then bow deeply. "My name is Cole LaFlamme." He raises up again, "it is a pleasure to meet you all"
Drake
"A pleasure."
He turns to Eko, "No liar this time, we didn't finish the game properly," he laughs
Eko Eco
"Cole LaFlamme." -Cole-
As he mimics Cole, he attempts to do the flourish as well, doing a sub par job.
Nahusca
Nahusca triumphantly clomps back to the table and throws four dice onto the table. "The fifth is no more, softling. A dwarf drank it down with his alcohol."
Drake
Drake laughs, "No matter I have spares," he looks down at his drink and finishes the little that is left, "How about we have a drink,?"
Cole
Cole will turn his attention to Folkre. "You say you seek some modern medicine, where is it that your travels take you next?"
Folkre
“Heh...”
“Well, I’m not sure. I’m looking for a big city, that I’ve heard about. Any big city with modern medicine.”
“I have some ailment unknown to my monastery. We don’t travel into the city unless it’s dire and... I was sent off, so I worry.”
He coughs again, more violently into his arm
Drake
Drake turns his attention to the elf, "What sort of illness, if you don't mind my asking."
Folkre
“I dunno.. I’ve been coughing nonstop, and I’ve felt letargic”
Lethargic*
Drake
"Cant say I've heard of an illness like hag,"
Nahusca
"If we were in the jungle I could help you. Here the medicine is strange. "
Eko Eco
Eko shrugs as well.
Folkre
“They say it is not a symptom of my throat.”
“Rather, it may me arcane in nature. Though I’ve never heard of an arcane sickness.”
Eko Eco
Eko begins imitating the coughing sound Folkre has been covering up.
"Ill" -Folkre-
Eko then begins making a low, soft murmer as if at the bed of a great forest. Making a noise that sounds like hundreds of crickets and some birds off in the distance.
Nahusca
"I thought the goal was Waterdeep. What have I missed? Is this deception?"
Drake
"Greenest!" Drake exclaims, "That's where I'm headed."
Eko Eco
"Greenest, where i am headed!" -Drake-
Eko begins to point to himself excitedly.
Folkre
“Yeah, probably worth checking out.”
Drake
"What takes you to Greenest, Eko?"
Eko Eco
Eko lowers his head and begins to imitate the sound of a small squirrel making noises on the ground. He transitions to the sound of twigs snapping, as he does he jerks his head to the side. Letting out a roar, he shudders at the sound of his own voice. He then begins the sounds of a small creature running through the forest. As he continues to make the noises they grow more tense. Faster and faster the sticks begin to break and the sound of the thing behind it. Then he stops abruptly.
"Are you scared Eko?" -little girl-
Eko begins to nod before sitting upright in his chair and puffing out his chest. "Be brave little bird!" -Same man you heard before-
then in a somber tone he says "Greenest." -Drake-
Folkre
“It’s hard to take anything from that but... I think he was chased here, maybe?”
Drake
'Seems that way, but it also seem Greenest is where he was headed,'
Eko Eco
Eko nods at drake. "Greenest is where he was headed" -Drake-
Nahusca
"If the bird mimics things...I want to see what made that roar. I will follow the bird and kill the roaring thing."
"Softlings, will the journey be long?"
Drake
"It may not be that simple, I was headed to Greenest because a friend of my told me of dragon activity. If that has anything to do with Ekos roaring, then..." he trails off clenching his fist
Folkre
“Hm..?”
Nahusca
"Yes, if there are dragons there we must definitely go by this Greenest place."
Eko Eco
Eko roars again in the same manor when Drake says the word 'Dragon'
Folkre
“I’ve never seen a dragon before... we should be cautious, but I do agree we should go.”
Drake
"Damn Dragons!" Drake exclaims louder than his normal speech and clenched his fist to the point of almost drawing blood
Nahusca
"Show respect softling. I honor all dragons and their kin" Nahusca glares
Folkre
“You must have some vendetta?”
Drake
"You honour dragons! You must not know of them," he turns his back to the lizard and turns to Folkre, "Yes I do have a vendetta against them, one of the killed almost half of my family," he spits aggressively
Nahusca
"Then the remaining half of your family is stronger for it. The strong become stronger. Be grateful that you are among them."
Drake
"They survived and regrouped if that is what you mean," he says with a fist still clenched, "Damn, beasts!"
Nahusca
"I mean exactly what I said. I do not know what truly happened."
Drake
"I was there I saw the destruction it wrecked upon my friends, I was lucky to survive..." he slams his clenched fist down on a table or the bar
Eko Eco
"Drake, he honour the..." -Drake-
"Powerful, the strong..." -Nahusca-
"Not you lost almost half of your family." -Drake-
Dungeon Master
The tavern goes silent for abrief moment as people turn from their drinks to look at the sudden slam.
Everyone goes back to their drinks, not really caring about the slam.
Drake
Drake turns to the the others in the bar, "My apologies, a bad memory," he pauses "Barman, another drink please."
Cole
Cole pulls out his fiddle and begins to play. "My friends." he yells. "A song for you all, dedicated to my grandfather, the great spear and dragon slayer." A Cole begins to play a powerful sounding song with a slow build.
Folkre
“I’ve never encountered a dragon myself. I’m sorry to hear that.”
“I’d be interested in seeing one in the flesh though.”
Drake
As Cole begins to play, Drake pulls a pipe from his pocket and begins packing it with tobacco before smoking to calm down a little
Nahusca
"They are mighty beings. I would be honored to meet this dragon."
Folkre
“You wouldn’t happen to have another smoke on you, would you?”
“I believe myself that all forms of nature are to be honored.”
“Life is not a gift to be taken in vain.”
Drake
Drake snorts "You wouldn't feel that way if you the devastation it caused that day."
Eko Eco
As Cole pulls out his fiddle, Eko begins to tap along with the beat he is trying to make, adding the occasional sound of an anvil being struck every 4th beat.
Folkre
“On the contrary, many of my kin have fallen to wildlife before.”
Drake
After a few puffs on his pipe he passes it to Folkre and pull his other pipe out and begins to 'smoke' it blowing bubbles, until Folkre passes it back when he offers him the other pipe m
Nahusca
"You soft skins destroyed my village and my home. Yet I sit here with you now, as equals."
Folkre
“Then I suppose you two are even then.” He chuckles.
Then he would seem to zone out, blankly staring
He would do this after taking 2 hits from the pipe
Drake
Drake looks at the lizardfolk, "It wasnt me that destroyed your homeland, but accept my apologies. I just have a deep hatred for dragons, especially that black bastard that killed my friends."
Nahusca
"Stronger, yes. We shall see about even." Nahusca says this with zero emotion.
I don't want apologies, I want glory for my tribe name."
Folkre
He just continues to stare blankly, as the pipe falls out of his mouth, but he catches it before it hits the floor
“I Uh...here, sorry.”
He’d hand it back
Drake
"I can say nothing about your tribe," he takes the pipe back from Folke, putting his other pipe away and continues smoking from the other, "As long as they have no ties to that bastard black dragon, the I have no issues with you or your tribe," he looks the lizard man in his eyes, "I meant no offense, it's just mentions of dragons dregs up horrible memories for me.
Folkre
“I just... remembered something, that I didn’t before. That smoke. It stirred a memory.”
Drake
"Hmm," Drake says between puff from his pipe
Nahusca
"It is over. Nothing happened that cannot be undone."
Folkre
“I just remember a glimpse... I remember being on the ground, in pain, and overlooking me was a... Glowing bear like... but also elk like creature, must have stood at least ten feet tall. It’s eyes were as empty as the night sky.”
“Or maybe it was a dream...? I don’t know, it feels really hazy.”
Drake
"Still..." he pauses, "Erm, what was your name?" He looks to the lizard man
He then turns his attention to Folkre, "Sounds similar to a dragon attack, pain and destruction are part and parcel but what you describe doesn't sound like any dragon I've ever seen or heard of."
Folkre
“I’ve seen a dragon in books and the like. It was no dragon, if it was real at all.”
Nahusca
"Did it come in your dreams? It sounds like a creature from another world"
Folkre
“I don’t know, I don’t have any recent scars.”
Drake
"Fair, then I can't say what you saw. But dragon cans be tricky, maybe it knows magic to alter its form," he clenched his fist at the thought, "Hey, Barman, another round for me and my friends," he gestures to the people hes talking to
Nahusca
Nahusca declines the drink and leans forward to whisper "Truthfully, this creature worries me. I would prefer the dragon."
Folkre
“I shouldn’t drink anymore, lest my condition get worse.”
“Yeah... I’ve never heard of anything like it, I’d take the dragon too.”
Drake
"Dont make me drink alone, I'm used to having..." he trails off taking a drink and s few puffs of his pipe
Eko Eco
"Eko had a dream too" -Folkre-
Folkre
“Did you now?”
He turns his gaze
Drake
Drake also looks towards his feathered friend
Eko Eco
He nods, excited at first but then his eyes begin to shift around as if he felt like he was being watched
"Scared" -little girl-
"10 eyes looking upon me" -old mans voice-
Drake
"Dont be afraid, a memory is just that..." he pauses as Eko continues, "10 eyes?" Drake falls silent in thought
Eko Eco
Eko begins to nod violently "afraid" -Drake-
Drake
"Perhaps..."
Eko Eco
"Be brave little bird" -man eko repeated before-
He begins to sit upright again and puff out his chest
Drake
Drake laughs, "maybe your right," he smiles
Nahusca
"What does ten eyes mean to you, soft skin?" Nahusca looks at Drake intently
Eko Eco
Eko begins to look intently on Drake, emulating Nahusca.
Drake
Drake thinks for a while...
"No, it doesn't ring any bells."
Nahusca
"Bells? We were talking about eyes. I think you should stop drinking tonight, softling."
Nahusca gestures at the door
Drake
Drake laughs, "it's a human expression,"
Folkre
“I think I should get back to my camp. I’ll probably see you all at greenest if you do plan on heading there though.”
“Stay safe, everyone. May the winds guide you.”
He would walk out
Eko Eco
Eko waves goodbye to Folkre. After which he turns to the rest of the patrons and makes several snoring noises before waving his goodbyes and heading up to his rented human nest.
Cole
Fulfilling his duties of entertainment for food and lodgings, Cole continues to play a variety of local fare.
Drake
Drakes waves as Eko and Folkre leave, he continues to puff on his pipe and enjoy his drink
Nahusca
Nahusca would have gotten up and returned to the corner where he was standing watch
Cole
Cole during a little break approaches Nahusca. "Hail my big friend." Cole gives the lizard folk an eye of appraisal. "At the table I had tried to hire your service, a traveling entertainer is a easy target for those looking to pad their pockets. I was wondering if i could hire you to guard me on my travels to Greenest?"
Nahusca
Nahusca looks down at Cole"Hello, softling. I can be your shield. I only ask that you pay for my lodging, nothing more. But be warned, my tribe's redemption always comes first."
Cole
"Of course of course, " Cole smiles at Nahusca. "You provide the muscle.and I shall provide the entertainment," Cole reaches out his hand. With a flourish Coles hand will flick a blade out of his sleeve. "If you wish to learn tricks with the dice it is best to practice with something that teaches you a lesson." Cole holds out one of his blades non threateningly to Nahusca.
Nahusca
"I have no desire to learn your tricks but if protecting you will take me across the land I will be more than content." Nahusca takes the blade and tosses it idly from hand to hand. "When do you leave, soft one?"
Cole
"I myself would prefer on the morn but at your earliest convienence is fine."
Nahusca
"I can be ready now." Nahusca turns and shouts at the tavern owner "Soft one, I no longer work for you! I am leaving." And begins to march towards the front door
Cole
Cole nervously laughs. "Wait, my friend." Cole hesitates for a moment, "I myself have duties here for the rest of the night for exchange for food and lodgings. Also I am not well equipped for travel at night."
Nahusca
"Very well. I shall wait with you, small one. But we should be up before the sun. It is a bad omen to waste the first day of a journey."
Cole
"Early bird gets the worm am I right." Cole gives Nahusca a wink.
Nahusca
"I have no interest in worms or birds, I just want to leave early. Maybe we will find something to fight along the way."
Cole
Cole smiles at Nahusca, "you never know." Cole looks to Drake accross the tavern. "Drake," he yells, "the big man and I are travelling to greenest at first light, would you care to join us?"
Drake
"Sounds good to me," he smiles and takes a puff on his pipe, "Its always nice to have travelling companions."
Dungeon Master
The evening grows and many patrons enter and exit the Boring owl. The tavern keep calls last orders before he kicks out everyone from the tavern. You all leave and find your own respective sleeping places for the evening and have a good nights rest.
Waking in the morning, you all find a nice sun in the sky that warms the air.
Nahusca
Nahusca wakes a little before sunrise and climbs up on top of the roof to bask in the sunlight
Drake
Drake wakes with the sunrise and heads downstairs for breakfast, he keep an eye out for Cole as he readies himself for the road ahead.
Folkre
Folkre would awaken early, and do several exercise routines in the morning on the tree his camp was near, before beginning to take down his camp, making sure to leave no trace
Cole
Cole wakes before first light and finds a place to practice some blade work. Coming back when light begins to fill the sky. He sees the lizard folk upon the roof of the tavern. "Have you had breakfast yet Nahusca?"
Folkre
Before long he would eventually start to leave for Greenest
He’s carrying a large backpack on his back
Cole
While waiting for a response from Nahusca, Cole sees a Folkre packed and leaving, "Folkre your up bright and early. Care for some company?" He calls out.
Folkre
“Join me if you wish, I’m headed to greenest to see if these rumors are true.”
Drake
Hearing Coles call outside, Drake grabs his backpack and heads out to meet them.
"Morning!" Drake says cheerfully as he see Cole, "Are we ready to set off?"
Folkre
“I am as ready as the wind that blows towards our destination.”
Cole
"Absolutely, but I wonder if we should see about collecting that little eko fellow." Cole interlocks his fingers behind his head and leans back in a stretch. "Roads can be dangerous for those who travel alone."
Nahusca
Nahusca finally realizes Cole was speaking to him. "I am ready, soft skin. I will not be eating until the sun sets again." He jumps from the roof and moves behind Cole to wait
Eko Eco
Unimpressed by the humans nesting abilities, Eko leaves his room and makes his way outside of the inn. Seeing the other patrons from the previous night fills Eko with energy as he runs down to greet them all. Taking a moment to greet each one, by saying their name in their own voice, Eko looks around before hearing Folkre mention he is going to
"Greenest?" -Folkre-
As he says the name of the town, he begins to point at himself while smiling along, implying his desire to go as well.
Folkre
"Yes, you may join me, friend."
"I'm sure all of us would be delighted by your company."
Eko Eco
Moving forward and grabbing Folkre's hand, Eko begins violently shaking it up and down.
"Friend!" -Folkre-
Putting a hand on his hip, Eko points with his other hand in the direction of Greenest.
Nahusca
"I like the bird. It brings me happiness that it is coming too."
Folkre
He forms a small smile "I see we are eager to go."
Cole
"Well then it is settled." Cole bows deeply sweeping his hands to the the road. "Shall we be off then?"
Drake
"Sounds good to me," Drake smiles
Nahusca
"Yes." Nahusca starts jogging down the road
Eko Eco
"Settled. Be off!" -Cole-
Folkre
Folkre would begin to move down the road as well, seeming to run akin to a marathoner to conserve stamina. "Let us move then"
Drake
"They look eager," he says as he begins to walk
Cole
Cole sighs as he looks at Drake"indeed." He groans a bit as he begins to trot.
Dungeon Master
The group leave the village that they all met in and start their journey on towards Greenest.
The day is warm but is complimented by a light breeze that rolls through the grassy hills. The group enjoy revelries together and listen to some warm hearted music played by Cole.
About halfway through their journey, the group notice a figure in the distance. As they get closer, they notice the figures height does not grow and see the figure accompanied by a dog.
They get closer and the figure stops and awaits for them to all approach.
Folkre
"Hm..?"
Nahusca
"Greetings, soft ones. Why do you stand in our way?" Nahusca holds his hand over the hilt of his sword
Milo
Milo looks at Nahusca's hand before looking up at him "I was just wondering if you guys know the direction to Greenest since I'm a bit lost" he looks to Buddy and holds his hand out with his palm down "sit, Buddy"
Folkre
"We're on our way, actually."
Drake
"Seems Greenest is the place to be at the minute. Why not travel with us?" He smiles
Milo
"oh I would love to join" he looks at Nahusca's hand again "at least if you guys aren't planning on killing me" he smiles
Nahusca
"For now, no. But this one (pointing at Cole) is under my protection. Know that, and tread carefully, small one. "
Folkre
"No harm will come to you from us, don't worry."
Milo
Milo nods and then turns to Nahusca "just know that I have brought my own guard" he points to Buddy
"my name is Milo, and my guard here is named Buddy. So who are you guys?"
Drake
"Drake. A pleasure to meet you." He pulls out his pipe and takes a puff
Eko Eco
Seeing the new people, this one being closer to the size of Emily, Eko walks up and begins to look them over, making sure to only really lean in to investigate when the small humans eyes are not on him. While still looking him over he looks at the small person and says
"Milo" -Milo-
Then turning his head down to the new creature "Buddy" -Milo-
Milo
Milo looks confused at the rest "what a coincidence"
Eko Eco
Recognizing the situation he has fallen into many times, Eko begins shaking his head. Walking in front of Milo he lifts a finger up and points at the small man
"Milo" -Milo-
he then shifts his finger to the new creature.
"Buddy" -Milo-
Then he begins to point at himself, smiling and puffing his chest out.
"His name is Eko!" -Little Girl-
Folkre
Folkre crosses his arms and watches the two
Eko Eco
Taking a moment, Eko begins to point at each member of their travelling group and says each of their names in a perfect mimicry of their own voices.
Before giving Milo a chance to replay, Eko grabs the small person on the shoulder
"Friend" -Drake-
Then he turns Milo in the direction of Greenest and begins pushing him forward, gesturing for the rest of his companions to follow along as well.
Drake
Drake laughs as the scene unfolds, "Looks like your coming with us now Milo," he takes another puff from his pipe and begins to follow Eko
