Ragnov downs his second glass of whiskey, then eyes the one the woman left, clearly thinking about taking that one too. "How does one lure spirit? Does spirit eat? I know nothing of these things. Perhaps I make dish for Chewings lure?" He suggests, butchering the name the woman had told the group.

Solste digs into her meal eating aggressively, causing gravy from the stew drips from her maw. "We can bring a multitude of items to see if the creatures can be lured into a box."

"You lots have any magic to incapacitate the Chewings? Cause we can just do that and put it into a bag, innit? The stuff I have is mainly for people. I don't reckon I can do that the an elemental."

Ragnov shakes his head, gesturing to the frankly massive woodcutter's axe leaning against the table. "This is what I have, little more."

“Alas that’s not the kind of magic The Morning Lord bestows. We may need to go with more conventional traps or befriend the creature somehow.”

Solste eyes here now empty bowl, she tries to think of what she knows of elementals but the food causes her more base instincts to cloud here intellect. "We should leave, acquire a box and begin the search. We may gain insight once we encounter the creature." Solste stands up beginning to don her winter gear once more. She readies herself ready to follow whomever would lead their search party.

"I spent my time 'ere in Bryn Shander, but I know of a chav who had been 'round the ten-towns. Reckon the lass can help us navigate." Ian says, smiling fondly, "bit of a prat, so cut 'er some slack, eh?" He finishes, ensuring his companions' bowls are empty before standing up and thanking to keeper for the meal.

"Before we go I need a favour team: a distraction, a good one, all eyes on you" Thorfin prepares a couple of his thief's utensils by hiding them in his sleeve.

Ian fixes Thorfin with a knowing smile, making a quick glance toward the trout then pulls out his lute, steps onto the chair he was sitting on, "may I have your attentions, ladies and gents" he says, stroking his lute harmonically, and creating a shower of spark using Prestidigitation, "a song, for the meeting of friends!"
Then he starts playing, and signing. He sings in a beautiful, yet alien language that a few would recognize as Celestial, telling a funny tale about a group of friends. As he sings, he takes steps backwards, to the opposite direction of the fish, grinning. (Performance +4)

Ragnov takes the opportunity to grab and down the half drunken glass of whiskey while Ian plays, then claps along to the performance.

"Thanks mate, see you outside". When people's attention has shifted towards Ian, Thorfin will sneak to the knucklehead and try to unmount it, or taking the whole thing, whatever is faster. If he succeeds, he will sneak outside.

Mordecai is too engrossed with the song and listening to the celestial lyrics to notice the rogues wrong doings. He lets out a shout and applauds at the songs conclusion.

Everyone Finishing up on your bowls of stew and then getting ready to head out into the cold wind that sweeps through Bryn Shander, Thorfin asks for a distraction to be provided which Eirian quickly agrees to and grabs his lute and steps onto his chair. With a loud declaration to the common room, Eirian grabs everyone's attention, even gathering a few from the taproom who stand in the entryway, including Scramsax. With a strum of the lute, which could do with some tuning, Eirian starts to sing in celestial which fills the room with an odd echo that seems to please the audience, although they cringe very slightly at the out of tune lute. Eirian carries himself with backward steps towards the opposite end of the room where the hearth and the kucklehead trout above the fireplace, where Thorfin sneaks off to.
Thorfin As Eirian provides the distraction for you, you stand from your chair and make your way to the kucklehead trout, hoping it will be the one that took your father's ring so many years ago. As you do your best to ignore the out of tune lute being strung from across the way, you get a few feet from the hearth and stare at the knucklehead trout, named Ol' Bitey, before reaching out for the plaque it is attached to and almost pulling it off the hook it hangs on. As your hand grips the plaque, the knucklehead trouts head swivels around and clamps its teeth onto your wrist, puncturing the skin and drawing a large amount of blood (Thorfin: 6 Piercing damage). "Hell of a bite on him, eh?" You turn to see Scramsax chuckling at your wound. "Now, what are you trying to do? Not stealing my fish I hope." He raises an eyebrow to you, with one hand on his hip.

Thorfin cleans up his bloodied hand, still giving his back the innkeper; doing so, he also sneakily removes his ring. "Surely I don't want this thing in my pockets" he turns around with a smile "it just so happens that a knuckeldhead took my father's finger, ring included, and it is now my duty to recover its twin" he shows the letter that narrates the story and his ring, supposedly identical to his father's. "My family is from the region and no fish can escape my inspection, except the ones that bite back..."

After the song finishes, Ragnov stands up and heads for the door as well, joining Solste. The alcohol has clearly not affected him much, his steps steady, and he turns and folds his arms to wait as he reaches the exit, not wanting to press into the biting cold before the rest are ready.

As the song finishes, Ian takes long bows and flourishes while waiting for Thorfin, seeing if he needs any helps.
