Cole hesitates a moment before speaking. "Let us ask for terms before either of you make a decision." Cole face shows a pained expression, "I don't know either of you well but to throw ones life away is a fools game." Cole looks to the gate, "lets see if words can bring the young ones home before one of you decides to get yourselves killed"

Milo sulks as Drake reminds him of his own injuries. "Fine. But you give him one for me." He says as he sheathes the scimitars once again. He then watches as Cole,Drake,Folkre, and Wilhelm all leave the keep and walk a few feet towards the half dragon. The gate is then lowered behind the small group.
The half dragon stays where he is as he looks at the four people who walked out from the keep. "I said best warrior, not 'warrior's'. Whomever that would be, step forward. The rest of you, keep between me and the keep. They will not hesitate to slice the throat of the prisoners should I smell the faintest hint of interruption. Now, who chooses to face me?" He looks at each face in front of him, waiting for a response.

As Drake steps forward, the half dragon smiles again, revealing all of his teeth. He then raises one hand and the kobolds prod the children with their spears. The children get up and run, avoiding the half dragon, and towards the group at the keep gate.
The half dragon takes a few more steps forward as he draws a greatsword from his back and twirls it through the air before holding it to his side. "Consider them a good-will token. Now come, human. Let our fight echo into the night." He stares Drake in the eye and gives him an acknowledging nod as a sign to start when he is ready.

Drake watches as the children run to safety before nodding back at the half dragon, "Before we begin, what is your name?" He pauses briefly, "My name is Drake," he then continues to walk forward ready for the duel to begin.

Cole watches a tight smile on his face. A hand reaches into his pouch as he draws a throwing blade. As a nervous habit he begins to spin the blade through his fingers reapeatedly.

Initiative:Drake,Langdedrosa Cyanwrath
Drake asks for a name as he moves forward. Without warning, Drake grips his shortswords tightly before moving in quickly and thrusting both swords into the half-dragon. Both tips of the swords find purchase in the splint mail and pierce slightly into the skin of Drake's opponent. The half-dragon swats away at the swords before smiling at Drake.
"My name is Langdedrosa Cyanwrath, Drake. Enough talk." He says sharply as he raises up his greatsword into the air and brings it around in a wide sweep. The blade slices through Drake's armour and into his skin, causing a gout of blood to spurt out and onto Langdedrosa (Drake:15 Slashing damage). As Drake falls to the floor, face first, Langdedrosa lifts the greatsword up once again and stares at the group outside of the keep. As he continues to stare at them, he stabs the greatsword down into the body of Drake on the floor (Drake:2 death saves failed).
Combat is over.
The kobolds cheer and yip in celebration of a victory. The half-dragon smiles as he wipes the blood from his sword and turns to face the kobolds. With a nod, the woman is prodded wwith the spear before she runs towards the keep, tears streaming down her face. The kobolds and half-dragon all turn and start to walk away, without saying a single word.
The gate is raised and two females rush out from the keep and over to Drake. They open medical kits and start to tend to Drake's wounds (Drake:Stabilised).

Cole takes a knee beside Drake and the two women administering medical treatment. "Shit, is he going to be alright?" Cole's eyes shift from Drakes wounds to the direction Cyanwrath had disapeared into the night, "Can we move him inside the walls?"

After the two women from Greenest stabilise Drake, Wilhelm will kneel beside him and pick him up. "Someone grab his weapons please." Wilhelm says to his companions, before turning to the departing villains and shouting. "You'll pay for what you did tonight you monsters!". He'll then get back inside the keep carrying Drake in his arms.

Vadania, short of breath reaches the situation.
‘I’m sorry for the absence, I can explain at a better time if needed. What do you need my help with?’

Picking up Drakes swords, Eko makes his way back inside while scowling at the half dragon. While he was close to the beast he would be letting out a low guttural growl, mimicking the large pack hunters of his forest.

Everyone rushes to Drake's side, worrying about his condition and suggest to move inside the keep and back to safety as the half-dragon and kobolds disappear into the dark of the night, no-one choosing to pursue them.
With Wilhelm carrying the body of Drake, they all move into the safety if the keep. The woman and her children are met with the arms of the guard who wanted to fight. They all sob as they share words of love to each other. The guard looks at Drake and then the rest of the group. "Thank you." He goes to say more but just cannot find the words.
Nighthill waves you all over towards the main entrance of the keep. "Please follow us. All of you." One of the women who ran to Drake's aid says to the group. "Well done friends. You have all done well. It seems the raiders are giving up and Greenest is safe. But the damage has been done. Now come, the hour grows late and the sun will rise soon enough. You must all be absolutely tired." Nighthill stifles a yawn before gesturing for you all to follow the ladies.
They lead the group into the keep and down a small set of stairs, which leads into a small corridor with doors on either side and at the end of the corridor. You are all lead to the door at the end and into a circular chamber. There are no windows in the room and not much furniture, apart from several beds. The woman point towards the closest bed to Wilhelm, gesturing for him to set him down on the bed. Once he does, the women start to carefully undress Drake before stopping and noticing everyone staring. "May he have some privacy? We need to bandage his wounds and it may be best he not be disturbed for the night." Nighthill nods and starts to usher everyone back into the hallway.
"It is no matter. You can all stay here, in these rooms." He gestures to the other doors in the hallway. "You will be close to Drake. I'm sure he will be fine as they are my two best healers we have here in Greenest. I will send some food your way momentarily and will hail you all in the morning. Not too early that is though." He chuckles slightly before releasing a full yawn. "And with that, I must go and finish my Governor duties for the evening. Thank you all, again. You have Greenest's thanks and debt." He nods before walking past you all and out of the corridor and up the stairs.
Looking into the rooms, you can see each room is square in shape, unlike the room Drake is currently in. Each room holds three beds with a chest at the bottom of each bed.

"I am not one to argue with a free nights sleep in a bed." Cole walks into the fist room on the right.
Cole will begin removing his packs and pouches. He places them infront of the chest at the foot of the bed he has chosen. He then begins doffing his armor, also placing it in front of the chest. He removes two blades from each of his sleeves and places them inside one of his pouches. He removes his boots placing them beside the head of the bed. He then removes his exterior set of travelers clothes, folding them neatly and placing them on top of the chest.
Cole surveys the room for a moment, flexing his hands inside his gloves. He takes a deep breath before removing his gloves and placing them beside his pillow.
He lays down then hoping for sleep to cone quickly. Staring at the ceiling, Cole mind races with the nights events.

"Alright guys, see you tommorow." Wilhelm will pick a free room and gets ready for the night. Removes his armor and backpack and store them in the box at the feet of the bed. Wilhelm will then do a quick prayer to Bahamut, asking for guidance then try to fall asleep.

‘The chance should be taken while it’s there, a night on a bed will suit me just fine!’
Vadania eyes an empty bed and slumps down onto it, aiming straight to unfasten her shoes before removing the rest of her gear before settling for the night. .

As everyone makes their way to their respective rooms, Eko sits down in the corner of Drakes room making it clear he intends to stay.
If he is asked to leave he will be adamant that he stays to watch over him.
If he is left to his oddities he will slowly begin to pull out the stuff in his pack setting it down on the floor. Curling up into a ball, he will watch over his friend in his makeshift nest until he succumbs to his exhaustion.
If forced to leave, he will nest up just outside Drakes door. If disturbed in the hallway, he will lightly growl like a feral cat to ward off predators.

Eko Eco You continue to insist that you stay in with Drake to keep an eye on him, and after much deliberation, the women agree to you staying. With there not being a corner in the room due to it being circular in shape, you sit against the wall near the door, and watch as the women continue to aid Drake in his recovery. It is not long before your eyes start to get heavier and you find yourself drifting off to sleep.
Everyone Having helped the people of Greenest to the best of your abilities, bonding with new allies only met a night ago or this night, killing many kobolds and cultists and raiders working for the Cult of the Dragon, your wounds ache as exhaustion takes hold of all of you and the night finally comes to an end.
All finish a Long Rest. All recover hit points, one hit dice if spent, spell slots, and abilities. Chapter concluded. All players gain a level. Please move to Chapter 2: On the trail of the Cult.
